Windy Wellington

Last week all of the year 7&8s went to Wellington we all had fun, but the reason we went was for a celebration for our last year in primary school because year 8s leave next year. As the year 8s leave Paihia Primary to go to college next year the Year 7's will become year 8s. But let’s cut to the chase and talk about something that I learned. I learned that originally the cable carts had big steam engines to power them so it could work, also I leaned the the cable carts were powered by coal and steam. Here are some more things that I enjoyed about Wellington I enjoyed Westpac stadium because of the nice view there. I enjoyed Te Papa because I enjoyed seeing the big sculptures and waka. Also I liked that the sculptures in the Gallipoli exhibit looked so realistic. Also I saw the real Treaty of Waitangi in Te Papa. Something I found interesting was that they made copies of the signed  Treaty so they it didn’t get wrecked by the light. I enjoyed the zoo because we got to see lots of animals, what I liked the most about the zoo was seeing the tiger sleeping. I really enjoyed my trip I hope I can go back some day. Would you like to see the really Treaty of Waitangi?

Steam challenge

On october 16 2019 Te Neghere did a steam challenge. What we had to do was make a Tower out of two pieces of newspaper and 30 cm of tape, also we had 20 minutes to build the tower. We got into  groups of two.My group was Isaiah, Stilwell and me. Something I learned from this is that you don't need too many materials and you need to keep an eye on the time. Also I learned that more time means better build.

Tips To Keep Safe In The Sea

On Thursday Tracy came to teach us about how to to stay alive when your boat capsizes and it sinks. So I learned that you should leave your radio channel on 16 because that’s the coast guard channel, you can buy a beacon that can track you down, but they cost 400-500 dollars, but there is an upside to it they last for 3 days. Also tell the coast guard where you're going and what time you will be coming back, put yourself first eg if it is too risky do not do it, always check the weather before you go out and make sure you and your parent  put a life jacket on. Quality blog post thing

On Monday 23rd of September we learnt about quality blog posting. What I had learnt is that the title is one of the most important things because it can make people what to read your blog post. I felt pretty good about my work because I got given help to do work on it. It was helpful because it can make it much easier to do my blog posts. Next time I do blog posting I will use the six instructions I was given. Did you enjoy my blog post? Thank you for viewing my blog. See ya.

Story beats

For the couple of days in Te Ngahere we have been doing story beats. What is story beats? story beats is a script you have to makeup, but it can be for movies and a story your making. What I have learned from story beats was that to make a movie, you have to have a once upon a time, every day, until one day, because of that, until finally, ever since then and the moral of the story. It helps when I am writing, cause I can use it to make my writing make sense. What I found hard was to make the script. I got given a group of 3 and they are Ricardo and Ben. We wrote a story about Donald Trump and a beast, Donald Trump builds a wall and feeds the beast though hole and he is not hungry anymore.

Beach clean up

last week Friday Te Ngahere went to the beach for a beach clean up. We could’ve gotten into groups of 5s but my group was a 4. The people in my group was Ricardo, Ben, Katipa and me. On the way back I found a great find! It was something off the front of a car. What I learned from this is that the beach can be very littered with rubbish and there can be rats in the rocks. There were  beer bottles, cans and lots of cigarette butts everywhere. I felt pretty good that we picked up rubush because we are helping the sea life.
