Toku Whanau
For the past couple of weeks in Te Ngahere we have been doing Toku Whanau. Toku Whanau is where you have to introduce your family on a google slide, so you had to say who your family is in Māori. It can be hard when you don’t know most of your family. What I enjoyed about the Toku Whanau was making the slide without the words on the slide. What I didn’t enjoy about Toku Whanau was that you needed help , the reason why you need them is that they have to have a doc that you write you family down on and they have to say things like ko wai ia? Ko wai ia means them introducing themselves? Next time I would work with someone who doesn’t giggle as it made it harder to finish.
marble run
A couple of weeks ago we did a marble run challenge in Te Ngahere. What we had to do was to make a ramp for the marble to get to 110cm, and if it rolled too far past 110cm you wouldn’t receive any points. So the thing is to get close to 110cm or near it so you can get points. If you got the most points you won and you got lollies or chocolate. I worked with Ricardo and Katipa and our one didn’t get finished because we made a lot of mistakes. We made it out of rolled up paper which didn’t work because the marble went to far. Then we made a different one out of game boxes but that one didn’t work either.I forgot who won but it was still fun. What I enjoyed about the marble run was seeing how other people in my class made ramps, out of cardboard and getting all hyped for people getting close to 110cm.

Bay Bush Action
in Paihia School we had this lady that came over her name is Stella she works for Bay Bush Action. She came to tell us about the native trees and the native birds. She wants to stop all the pests like stoats, rats and others so they can stop killing all of the native wildlife and the numbers can increase so they don't become extinct like the Huia. Sometimes it can make me feel sad for the native birds and the trees and for their future later on.

disco
On Wednesday the school had a disco in the whare. It was quite fun. We had multiple choices of songs, my favourite song was Old Town Road. Some of my friends had face paint but I didn’t. My best friend came to the disco his name is Mikaire, but I call him friend. One of my friends payed for me his name is Isaiah C. Mostly everyone in the school calls him Chum Chum. I think I saw 3 or 4 of my friends and one or two cousins at the disco. Our teacher Whaea Chrissy took 31 photos. I was in a photo with Chum Chum. I had so much fun I hope we have another disco this year.

yes to success
Last month we had a man named Robert. He came into our whare to talk to Te Ngahere about how to be successful in school and to tell us how to be nice and not to be bad. What I enjoyed was learning that Robert has a company that raises millions and millions of dollars by getting other companies to pay him money to make more money.

smiling and waving
In Te Ngahere we were learning to smile and wave at kids in the other classes. Most of them waved back some didn’t wave back and I saw Fonz help a little girl. I waved at 11 or 12 people. All of Te Ngahere had fun though and there were a ton of kids that smiled and waved but I wasn't the only one to do it in my class. What I did well was smiling and waving at the other kids I think I could do better next time is smile more and enjoy it. Also I had fun waving at my friends and other kids.
